These ornaments were made just before the start of World War II. T he Steuben design staff submitted several fanciful designs with a strong symbolism of America & Patriotism. A dozen of these designs were chosen for production classified as “Molded Fancies”. These are some of those first chosen fancy designs. The earliest Corning fanciful designs are some of the most striking ornaments ever made. The Corning Glass Works Co. Was noted for their bright, bold and beautiful paint colors. These were experimental designs were produced for a very short period of time. They are rare and difficult to find. Red, Blue and Green indented with an Embossed Star and Rays four stripes on the back. 2″ wide x 2″ tall. One Unsilvered Plain Lantern.
