Vintage Patriotic Christmas Tree Ornaments. 1930’s – early 1940’s. Art Deco Era Pre- WW II. A box of twelve late 1930’s to early 1940’s embossed Corning Glass Christmas Ornaments. These ornaments were made just before the start of World War II. T he Steuben design staff submitted several fanciful designs with a strong symbolism of America & Patriotism. A dozen of these designs were chosen for production classified as “Molded Fancies”. These are some of those first chosen fancy designs. The earliest Corning fanciful designs are some of the most striking ornaments ever made. The Corning Glass Works Co. Was noted for their bright, bold and beautiful paint colors. These were experimental designs were produced for a very short period of time. They are rare and difficult to find. This box contains: Star Reflectors, Lanterns/Space Capsule, Plain/Beaded Lanterns, Lanterns with Stars, Bell/Buoys and Pine Cone. Three Unsilvered Star Reflectors. Red, Blue and Green indented with an Embossed Star and Rays four stripes on the back. 2″ wide x 2″ tall. One Unsilvered Plain Lantern. Outside painted Red with six rows embossed beads spots and a thick piece of Tinsel. 2″ wide x 2.5″ tall. Two Silvered Lanterns often called Space Capsules. Silver Lantern painted Red at the top and the bottom with Red dots around center. Silver Lantern painted Green at the top and the bottom with Green dots around center. One Unsilvered Lantern often called Space Capsule. Two Lanterns with Stars. Embossed Four-sided Lantern Silver an Gold with Green dots and stripes. Embossed Four-sided Lantern Silver Ornament painted Pink. 1.25″ wide x 2.75″ tall. Two Bells often called Buoys. Blue with painted Red dots and White Stripes.
