A Rare Collection of Original Antique German5 Shiny Brite Christmas Ball Ornament Manufactured in Germany Pre WW2 A Box of 12. I checked the cap and saw Germany Shiny Brite. The marking was unfamiliar due to Germany. I learned Max Eckardt produced glass ornaments in Germany and they were imported to the USA during the 1907 to the MId 1930’s. Because of the threat of war in Germany he decided to move to the USA. In 1937 he contacted Bill Thompson store manager of F. Woolworth and placed an order with the Corning Glass Co. In NY to produce machine-blown glass balls 1939. Upon completing the manufacturing Shiny Brite USA were distributed all over the United States. The Christmas ball are highly sought after and collectible. Condition Used Assorted designs glitter, painted, faux jewels, etc. Various wear some missing areas some complete I think the balls are in fantastic condition for age and use the balls are older than the Shiny Brite USA balls and I think they were cherished and well kept all these years Original box it is plain with no markings or decorations on box old staples box has tears at corner ends and old tape age yellowing and wear expected for age and storage Please see pictures. Style- there are two similar such as 2 with faux jewels a pink a bluish, 2 faux jewels grey glitter, 2 gold white paint design with faux jewels, 2 with glitter and painted flowers, 2 bluish with glitter, 2 pink glitter and painted circles, total 12 balls. Material: Glass — Hand painted — glitter— faux jewels. Size I would say large size balls. Made in Germany Marked on top of hanger Germany Shiny Brite. S elling as is and found. For your pleasure: These Christmas balls are special because they were made before shiny brite ornaments in the USA. The German Shiny Brites were produced from 1907 to MId 1930’s Pre-WW2.
