Beautiful hard to find golden eagle on a branch ornament. Pretty eagle sits with this talons perched on a tree branch. Lovely view of his wings on the back. There is some paint loss and silvering loss, however, there is still very strong silvering through most of the ornament. There may be some spotting and scratches, and age darkening on top. This is an Antique German Dresden Christmas Ornament in the shape of an American Eagle. It measures 6 3/4 inches wing tip to wing tip and 2 inches tall. He still has his hanging loop and his glass eyes amazing! His toes are all there (also amazing). He will stand alone if you balance him on both his feet and tail. The right foot has been reattached to the leg but you can hardly tell. (If I say tell you, you probably wouldn’t know). There is loss of color on top of his head and there is some wear. See all the pictures for the best description. These are all made before the 1940’s (and many are from much earlier) that went into this collection back in the 70’s when Christmas ornaments were much easier to find than they are now. These are nice figurals that are hard to find with some ornaments in this collection that I have never even seen before. I will be putting some more on over the next few days and more before the end of the month. I also have figural bulbs that I will be listing later as time permits.
