Set of 5 mid century glass diaorama Christmas ornaments. Four were made in Japan and the pink one is from USA. Each features a minature 3d holiday scene inside an indented ball, trimmed with mica snow and tinsel. Colors include red, blue, green and pink. Light age wear and typical silvering loss from use, no cracks.

4 Vintage Snowman Blue Mercury Glass Christmas Ornament. Teardrop Shape – Diorama, Indent. Rare & Hard to Find Ornaments. Snowmen in Top Hat, Felt Scarf w/Red Nose & Rosy Cheeks. Made in Japan 1950’s – Approx 75 Years Old. Approx 6″ Long x 1-1/4″ Wide (at widest point). For sale is a set of 4 Vintage 1950’s Blue Mercury Teardrop Glass Christmas Ornaments, all with a Snowman inset into the front of the ornament. The snowmen are absolutely adorable with their black top hats, white felt scarves, red noses and rosy cheeks, surrounded by mica glitter accent. The blue color is slightly different across the 4 ornaments, probably because of age. There are signs of age wear and one has some areas of paint loss; and there are a few age spots on the felt. One has a chip under the hanger (see photo #17). The blue snowmen in my opinion are the hardest to find in the series of 4 figurals, and these are from my personal collection. The ornaments were made in Japan in the 1950’s, and are unmarked. They measure approx 6″ long, but there is some slight difference in length across the 4; width is approx 1-1/4″.
