This antique vintage 1880s to 1930s Christmas ornament is a beautiful example of craftsmanship. The colorful bird and nesting Mercury glass beaded swing with vintage tinsel are exquisitely made of mercury glass, and the entire piece has been carefully preserved for over 100 years. The ornament was likely made in Germany and is a wonderful addition to any collection of antique decor. She is beautiful and rocks nicely on the tree, whether a regular Christmas tree or Feather tree!!! She has her original spun glass tail, that moves inside her body to store it away when she is not on display. She sits beautifully in the mercury glass nesting swing. Attached under the swing is a beautiful flower made of mercury glass beads and under the flower are more beads trailing down to one single teardrop glass feed. All our hand wired together on this beautiful mercury glass beaded Christmas ornament. Displays nicely on a goose feather tree. The bird sways in her nest swing with the slightest movement! She magically is waiting for those eggs to hatch and babies to come about, and start flying! The swing is also made up of glass mercury beads that have wire threaded through each, and every bead in this ornament.
