All of these unsilvered American made glass Christmas ornaments were produced during World War II. From 1942 through 1945, all metals including silvering agents were needed for the war effort, so ornament manufacturers switched to using painted, sprayed, and flashed-on decoration rather than silver nitrate. The round ornaments range from 2 to 3 inches diameter. Most have painted rings or stripes, one has odd squiggles of black glitter (perhaps an at-home art project), another has bright yellow and white mica glitter. Two of the larger ornaments have their original paper caps. The red bell ornament was made by Premier. There are actually two red bells, but the one on the right in the last photo has a break at the bottom. I decided to include it to make an even dozen. The other non-round ornament is a Shiny Brite UFO type tornado shape. The ornaments are in quite good condition considering that unsilvered ornaments were prone to flaking and scratching easily. There is of course some mild wear consistent with age, mostly to the mica glitter. There is no box. See my other listings for hundreds of antique and vintage Christmas items.
