This rare figural antique glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the 1930s. It’s called Radio Monkey and depicts a monkey sitting in a wicker chair, the word Radio embossed across the front of his hat (I have no idea why). The ornament is 4-1/2 inches high, silver with painted red and gold details. The inner mercury silvering has degraded some above the monkey’s nose, causing a slight transparent effect when held to the light. The rest of the ornament has nice, reflective silvering. It’s hard to determine the amount of paint loss as I don’t know how much pink was at the front of the monkey originally. There are no chips or breaks. See my other listings for hundreds of antique and vintage Christmas items. It’s heartbreaking to hear that awful tinkling when your package arrives and you find nothing but shards inside. Almost all my items are antique or vintage and come from a variety of sources. I cannot guarantee that any item is from a smoke-free or pet-free home. International customers are always welcome.
