Composition Angel Christmas Ornament with Glass Spun Wings and Silk Hair – 1880’s. This early angel Christmas ornament has glass spun wings on a composition body covered in a wax film. The face is hand-painted with what appears to be silk coiled hair. The angel is wearing a fine fishnet garment. When the string is pulled, the wings extend. I believe this ornament is German.
