Nine Dioramas Indent Scenes Glass. These silvered mercury glass indented scene Christmas ornaments were made in Japan in the 1950s. Inside the concave recess in the glass are plastic or celluloid figures. There are three different scenes with figures: Santa in his Sled, Church with steeple and Angel in prayer. In each ornament there’s a ground cover of glittery white mica snow with falling mica snowflakes on different tinted backgrounds. About 2-3/8 to 3 inches diameter, these ornaments are in good condition. There are 3 of each of the 3 scenes. Santa riding in his sled with his reindeer on a ground cover of glittery white mica snow with falling mica snowflakes on a silvery blue tinted background. Church with Steeple on a ground cover of glittery white mica snow with falling mica snowflakes on a pink tinted background. Angel wearing a white robe standing on a ground cover of glittery white mica snow with falling mica snowflakes on a pink tinted background. None of the figures have been replace and are original to these ornaments. Ornaments are approximately 3 wide. Ornaments are in good condition. Oxidation near the pikes and of the hangers. These Mercury Glass Diorama Ornaments are not new and have been used. They show signs of usage, storage an d aging. There is oxidation of the mercury glass.
