Offered for sale is a highly desirable antique German kugel Christmas tree ornament manufactured during the early 1900s. The ornament is made of cobalt blue mercury glass, and has an asymmetrical grape cluster form with its original brass top and O ring. The ornament stands about 5″ tall and it has a maximum diameter of about 4″ across. The overall condition of the kugel is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, or broken areas. The blue mercury color has no flaking or loss, which is tough to find on these. There is light standard surface wear to some of the high points on the grape clusters in the form of rubbing and light scratches. The brass top and O ring look tremendous with a light film around the outside, standard tarnishing, and no splits.
