Listed here is a RARE antique. German made, Hand blown Christmas Mercury Glass BUTTERFLY Ornament. Spun glass wings are hand painted, original. Condition is vintage so please view all images as they are part of the description. There are no chips, cracks or paint loss on glass body or wings. Glass neck at hanger and antennae are intact. This butterfly is unique as there are two ways to hang. The glass hanger is also intact (as shown in photo #3) so string or metal hanger can easily be attached. In this manner, the spun glass tail can be added and displays laterally (flying position). Photo #4 shows both options for displaying. The metal hanger that inserts at the tail is marked “Germany” and another option is indicated in photo’s 5 & 6. The spun glass tail slips out occasionally, but I’ll leave that to the new owner to determine how to secure. Item has not been out of the package except to shoot images for this listing so packed away all this time. This butterfly is Absolute Mint Condition!! Size: 3″Hx3.25″W.
