Condition is excellent, signed in diamond point script with the Steuben “S”. This ornament comes in the pictured Steuben pouch. Made in the USA Corning NY at Steuben Glassworks of original formula Steuben glass. Most clear and optically stunning, has the best best light refraction and produced without seams! Retained a part ownership and the special Steuben Crystal clear Glass formula. To reduce costs Schottenstein outsourced some production to Portugal and Germany. These off shore made pieces were. Hand signed and not made of the special clear Steuben crystal. After 108 years in business Steuben closed in 2011 making it very hard to find authentic pieces. Any products currently being made under the Steuben label are being imported from Portugal and Germany and are not made of the special optically pure formula glass since the USA glassworks and melting kilns were dismantled in 2012.
